8th June

Finishing the week with a spot of relaxation. We really enjoyed our mindfulness colouring. #mentalheathawareness

4th June

Kicking off Children's Mental Health Awareness week looking at what makes us unique. It is very easy to think of things we are not very good at but harder to think about what is good about ourselves.

Our jigsaw pieces celebrate our likes and dislikes as well as our talents.

We then put them together to show how 2-3 Holly is made up.

25th May

We have spent the week learning about the life and work of Van Gogh.

Today we worked in groups using different mediums to create sections of Van Gogh's Sunflowers. We then put the pieces together. This is what we made.

I was so impressed how the children worked together and communicated with each other to create this masterpiece.

Your children are amazing! Words cannot express how proud I am of my Year 2s. They have approached the SATS with determination, resilience and a positive 'I can' attitude. Well done Year 2. You are a credit to your families and to this school!

23rd May

In science today we had fun exploring, sorting and labelling the parts of a plant. Why not ask your child to tell you about the different parts and their jobs.

Please find information on the upcoming year 2 SATS test here

10th May

We had a fabulous lesson discussing the language used in our latest English story book:

Gracie the Lighthouse Cat

We focused on this phrase: Braving the raging storm.

looking at: the meaning of the words •How it makes us feel •Other words the writer could have chosen.

4th May

This half term we have been focusing on the life and work of L.S. Lowry. How much do you know about him? Take a look at some of his work.  We also enjoyed listening to this Lowry inspired song whilst we created our masterpieces.

23rd March

Ever wondered what it would be like to make a sandwich in space? We found out when the Wonderdome visited us today. Why not have a go yourself? #peanutbutterandhoney

World Book day is finally here!

I am absolutely blown away by the effort made by all on World Book Day. Don't we look fab?

This afternoon we enjoyed sharing books with 4 Ash. It was lovely. Thank you 4 Ash!

Thursday 15th February

Today we explored what resilience means and how we can develop this and become strong, resilient learners. We had fun exploring our emotions and how our brain works. We also looked our developing a positive mindset by turning negative statements into positive ones. As we frequently say in 2-3 Holly: It's only a problem if you make it a problem!

This is what resilience means to 2-3 Holly!

Thursday 21st December

Well deserved reward for great behaviour in 2-3 Holly this half term. Fun bounce was enjoyed by all!

Thursday 21st December

When we come back in the new year, our topic will be SPACE. We are going to carry this link through our English lessons too. I am so excited to explore this book with 2-3 Holly. It only arrived on Monday and I can't put it down!
