  Welcome to the class page for 6 Elm.

Here, you can find all of the important information you might need and discover everything we are currently learning about.

In 6 Elm we are ready, respectful and safe. We are aspirational with our learning and understand the importance of being brave and taking risks.

Staff

 

6 Elm will be taught by Mrs Jennings and Miss Hirst on Thursdays 

Mrs Anderson will be supporting in 6 Elm.

Miss Eyles will be teaching in 6 Elm on Monday afternoons.

    Key information:

    PE will be on Wednesdays. 

    On P.E. days pupils need to come to school in P.E. kits and stay in them for the day. Please make sure all items are clearly labelled with the children's names on.

    • Pumps (indoor) and trainers (outdoor)
    • Plain white round neck tee-shirt or polo top
    • Plain black PE shorts
    • Plain black joggers/tracksuit bottoms/leggings
    • Black hoody - A school jumper must be worn if they do not have a black hoody)

     

    Children also have the option to wear the Orchard Primary Academy branded PE kits. These can be ordered from:

    This half term, our focus is Football. 

    Swimming will be on Fridays.

    Our last swimming session will be on Friday 13th February.

     Pupils need to ensure they have an appropriate swimsuit and a towel. Pupils do not need to bring goggles but can bring their own if they prefer.

     

     It is important to keep hydrated throughout the school day so we need to have a bottle of fresh water in the classroom with our names on.  We have water fountains in school to refill these when needed.

    This half term we will be learning...

    English

     In English, we will be focusing on the following texts:

    We will be writing character descriptions, diary entries, informal letters and newspaper reports. 

     Maths

    Operation (mathematics) - Wikipedia

     In maths, we will continue to recap the four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division), alongside working on fractions, decimals and percent.

    PSHE  

    Our PSHE lessons involves using a new scheme: My Happy Mind. It will support children's mental health and help them understand how to thrive by understanding their emotions.
