Year 6 London Visit – A Trip to Remember

Our Year 6 pupils recently enjoyed their much-anticipated annual trip to London — a truly special experience designed to broaden their horizons and provide memorable opportunities to explore our capital city.

Travelling by train, the children visited some of London’s most iconic landmarks, including Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye. The visit offered a valuable chance for pupils to bring their learning to life while experiencing the history and culture of the city first-hand.

A particular highlight this year was our inaugural visit to the West End, where pupils watched Matilda the Musical at the Cambridge Theatre. This unforgettable experience added a real sense of excitement and inspiration to an already exceptional day.

The trip also serves as an important celebration for our Year 6 cohort, marking the end of their journey at Orchard Primary Academy as they prepare to transition to secondary school in the coming weeks.

We were incredibly proud of the children throughout the visit. Members of the public, including those on trains and in restaurants, took the time to comment on their excellent behaviour, positivity and kindness. They represented the school with maturity and pride at all times.

It was truly a trip of a lifetime, filled with friendship, laughter and lasting memories.
